BGRoom Backgammon Only In setting up the website, the BGroom team was adamant in putting the players needs and wants first resulting in a convenient and fun Backgammon portal. The board is brought to you in 3D style with a classic wooden design. The userfriendly interface allows players to choose between voice or chatting options all with a few simple clicks of the mouse. Currently, BGroom only offers heads up games. You can either join an existing table or start a new table. If you want to start a new table, then you have two options play a single game or play a series of matches. After clicking an option that best suits you, a new window will be created. This is where you can set your limits and stakes per points. Here you can also specify settings for Doubling Cube, Beaver and Jacoby Rule. After you are done setting the speed of the game, all you have to do is wait for an opponent. A Doubling Cube is used for increasing the bid or to check the state of the current bid. It has six sides with one of 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 and 64 numbers on each side. A player may suggest doubling the bid anytime after the first roll. Then the opponent decides whether to accept or reject the offer. If he rejects it, he loses the game at the current stake level. If he accepts it this means the bid is doubled, then the Doubling Cube is adjusted such that its upper side shows the present stake level. When a player accepts doubling, he gains control of the Doubling Cube and now becomes the only player who can redouble the stake. When the Beaver option is selected, you automatically redouble the stake after a player doubles it. If you decide to play with the Jacoby Rule, and both players reject doubling during the game, gammons and backgammons are counted as 1 point. |
