Product Description
i21 Nights/i--a first book by Prince and celebrated photographer Randee St. Nicholas is a stunning multimedia volume offering a rare glimpse into the life, lyrics and mystique of one of the most notable and prolific musicians of our time. This beautifully designed photographic essay flows from Prince's sensational, unprecedented, record-breaking, sold-out 21 concerts in 21 Nights at London's 02 Arena in 2007. Giving insight into his dueling worlds of performance and solitude, i21 Nights/i incorporates Prince's evocative poetry and lyrics to new songs and other selections, and 124 full-color, sumptuous never-before-published images by Randee St. Nicholas. As part of the multi-dimensional experience, it will also include "Indigo Night," a CD--available only with the book--capturing Prince's after-hours, live after-show sessions--rare and profound moments of musical genius. brbrpi21 Nights/i takes the reader from the passenger seat of a limousine zipping through the streets of London to his sleeping quarters in a luxury hotel. In between we see him and his phenomenal band of musicians, singers and dancers backstage in the make up room to onstage, bathed in purple lights and a fog of gray smoke. Like a movie-in-a-book, readers are taken on his journey from London to Prague, in a style that takes glam rock to a new level. brbrpThen there is poetry and lyrics that reveal the heart and soul of Prince--in addition to his incomparable talent. Going beyond the catchy hook, he expresses himself on everything from the destructive forces of war, greed and superficiality the life giving energy of love, beauty, and--of course--music.

5 out of 5 stars Great Christmas Gift !!!   January 6, 2009
I purchased this for my Husband for Christmas. My Husband is an avid music lover and a huge Prince fan, so this was the perfect gift. He loved the photos (being a professional photography he could really appreciate them) and couldn't wait to listen to the CD. Anyone who is a Prince fan will love this book. No doubt about it. And the price is 1/2 of that in the retail store. I love AMAZON !!21 Nights

3 out of 5 stars 21 Questions   December 30, 2008
Being a VERY huge Prince fan after almost 30 years and collecting everything this guy has released including all his protege groups, bootlegs, concerts, movies, etc. I would have to say I am pretty disappointed in this book as well as the CD. First I dont seem to understand why we get filler pages and photos of all his maids, clothes, rooms, buildings, and streets with store windows!? Where is Prince performing his 21 Nights concerts? Than really wanting to hear the disc again I was terribly disappointed. The quality of course is excellent but who needs filler songs again with girl guest singers? Again where is Prince? The other book that was also released around the same time called Prince: Life And Times is way better than this release and I catch myself always reaching for that book and reading it page by page. As Prince is always complaining and removing his pictures and photographs I see this book as another way of him telling all the fans that this is all your getting and youll have to pay me in order to view them too. Than Im sorry Prince, Than you should have not chosen to be a star if you didnt want your fans to take photos or ask you for an autograph. Its a part of the career.

3 out of 5 stars Meh....   December 29, 2008
This book/CD is okay. I got it from my son for Christmas (bless his little heart!!!) I expected to see more pix of Prince but...got more sights of things I didn't much care about like...streets, buildings, empty hotel rooms, maids, back up singers or dancers or whoever they were...didn't care bout' all that. br /br /And before someone thinks I'm a hater....I'm probably the biggest Prince Luver there is...but the book was....*Shruggs* Meh.... Glad I didn't spend my money. The book I asked for, was a different book - about the same size of this one....not that I thumbed through that one but...I'll add this one to my collection...br /br /Peace! br /br /

4 out of 5 stars #1 Prince Fan   December 24, 2008
This book brought back so many memories of going to see Prince in Concert throughout the years. I loved it and the CD that comes with it is bumpin. I recommend this book to All Prince Fans and even those who are on the fence. Pick it up you'll love it.

5 out of 5 stars Classy   December 22, 2008
I really dug this peek into the world of Prince. It was more like a story unfolding into sight and sound. The photos were great and the weight and paper stock of this book indicated that this is to be seen as an art piece. I wasn't expecting a , "behind the scenes" look into Prince's life. Instead the book looks like a fantasy, dream in purple wafts of scented smoke.br /br /The live cd is a gem in and of it's self. It is hard to find a favorite since the album is to be experienced as a whole. Prince is always innovative and mysteriously intriguing. His evolution into something otherworldly is a sight to be seen. I loved this book of sight and sound.
