Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
You#8217;ve been hearing about the SAT since the day you entered high school. Guess what? It#8217;s time. So when you walk into that testing hall, will it be a case of nerves#8212;or attitude? A guerrilla guide written by six students who destroyed the SAT, iUp Your Score/i combines the best math, critical reading, and essay preparation with the strategies and tips you need to psyche out#8212;and not be psyched out by#8212;The Test. As iSassy/i magazine said, #8220;It#8217;s everything you need to give #8217;em hell.#8221;

Book Description
It#8217;s the proven guerilla guide: The students who developed iUp Your Score/i all aced the SAT and went to the colleges of their choice; and the new guest editors, Jean Huang and Swetha Kambhampati, each scored a perfect 2400 by following UP YOUR SCORE principles. Packed with attitude, rock-solid knock-#8217;em-dead strategies, and laugh-out-loud humor, this is the book for students by students, the book that diffuses the stress and actually makes test-prep fun. Its witty, peer-to-peer voice#8212;like getting advice from a good (and ireally/i smart) friend#8212;makes the material so much easier to retain than the dry text of traditional test guides. And priced at $11.95, it#8217;s an economical alternative to expensive test-preparation courses, and an affordable addition, breath of fresh air, and reality check for the student who has a Princeton Review or Kaplan book.brbr Straight from triumphant test veterans, here is: How to prepare the essay in advance. Six hundred key vocabulary words (and proven tricks for actually remembering them). The best way to fill in answer circles and other strategies for saving precious minutes. Plus, tips for maintaining concentration over the long haul, why it#8217;s always better to guess than leave a question unanswered, and a recipe for energy-boosting Sweet Tasty 800 Bars (and how to smuggle them into the testing hall).

5 out of 5 stars wonderful   November 23, 2008
this is the least boring study guide i've found so far. you still have to work and at times the work is still tedious, but the book tries to review most concept in easy terms. i rcommend it for everyone!

5 out of 5 stars Score Booster   November 11, 2008
After taking the SAT once, I decided I needed to prepare better for the second time around. This book raised my score by over 100 points. While it doesn't necessarily provide study material, it provides strategies to go about taking standardized tests particularly the SAT's. This book changed my life and I would suggest it as a supplement to other SAT prep books for someone looking to drastically raise their score.

5 out of 5 stars I LOVED IT!!!!   October 13, 2008
I took my SATs about 4 years ago. The first time I took them, I did fine but not good enough. After that I bought this book and it helped me get 200 points higher! The vocabulary list is amazing and so funny! I still remember some of the comics and sentences from the vocabulary section and they still make me laugh. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that doesn't want to just take practice tests over and over again.

5 out of 5 stars Best wordlist ever!   January 15, 2008

I took the SAT back in 2001, and this book raised my verbal score by close to 170 points. Seriously, I took a practice test, got a 620, spent 3 weeks studying the word lists in this book, took another practice test, got a 790 (I also got a 790 on the real thing). I didn't use anything else. I also didn't learn anything in school because it wasn't in English. This book is awesome. I still remember the words that I learned using this book!br /br /You won't regret it!

5 out of 5 stars Best SAT book   January 15, 2008

I took the SAT's the first time 2 years ago when I was a junior and I was to take it again fall of my senior year so I planned to spend summer studying. I took classes at Sylvan learning center (great!) and had Princeton Review's SAT book and book of practice tests, flashcards, and Kaplan's book. I could not find a way to focus for too long with any of those, so I went on Google to search for an SAT book that maybe had some jokes or was a bit entertaining and I ran across this book.br /br /The book teaches you but still takes breaks in between to do have a little cartoon or tell a joke. It is great! They also give really great tips. For the first time I actually found studying for SAT's fun. Also the jokes and everything are a great way to help you remember things. I definitely recommend this book for anyone who is studying for the SAT's! With the SAT classes and this book, my score increased 200 points. br /br /also they have a free thing for you ipod so you can listen to vocab words in a song or something like that.
