Avoid this product December 30, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been using MovieFactory 3. It could import .mov from my Kodak digital camera and .mpeg from my Sony HandyCam. But I liked the 16:9 preference setting that MF6 had, which is how I record off my HandyCam, and the DVD menu was setup for 16:9 better in MF6. So I placed my order and installed. Then I try to import .mov into a project. It will play half of them but it doesn't track the time properly. The rest play just a few frames. These were all taken the same day with the same camera. What a disapointment. I then tried installing the patches and they did not fix the problem at all. I can't belive my MF version 3 is better than MF6. What a waste.
Made my system unbootable November 30, 2007 Installation inexplicably died before completeion. Then I tried to reboot, but my system would not successfully boot. I had to COMPLETELY restore my hard drive. So, based on my experience, I would say DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL THIS PRODUCT (unless you actually enjoy restoring your hard drive).

I have been editing for several years and with different machines. I can tell you that not all consumer based products will work in all PCs. The problem is each software you load effects the other. I have had programs that work great until I install another program even years later and poof the editing software no longer works or it starts locking up. Roxie screwed up my machine and I am having trouble burning DVDs. I downloaded the trial version from the Ulead web site and it was the only one that worked. My advice to anyone is to go to the manufactures web site and download the trial version first. I use Magix 11 to edit but the DVD burning feature does not work in the US. Ulead 3 and version 5 worked until Roxie was installed on my machine. Now only 6 will work. I have wasted many hours of my life coming up with various workarounds for numerous editing and authoring programs throughout the years because all of these products tweak the drivers and they don't always play nice with each other. Of coures you could call support and watch the finger pointing begin. ALWAYS USE THE TRIAL VERSION WHEN POSSABLE! br /br /P.S FYI Corel recently purchased Ulead so don't hang them, this program has been out for many years.
Don't waste your money on this! October 3, 2007 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this thinking that the Corel company, which offers this on their website, would not sell an inferior product. But I was wrong. This program froze my computer up several times. Once while trying to install it, then after several tries installing it froze again while I was editing a show, then again when I tried to burn a DVD. This program is terrible and I would not recommend it to anyone. Also my opinion of Corel just went into the toilet. Thank you very much. Rene Boufford.
