 NOT COMPATIBLE WITH NEWER CANON HG21 October 23, 2008

Just bought a new Canon HG21 AVCHD and this software will not recognize it. Hooked up my older Sony Mini DV and it works fine. BEWARE! Sony claims UNRESOLVED ISSUES!
 Great video editting October 1, 2008
Program easy to use and all instuctions clear for even the first time user. Amazon has the retail price wrong though. It sells at Sony for 549.99 not 699.00 as they have on there sell for price.
Seamless Editing control September 8, 2008
This is by far the most_stable video editing software out there. Works extreemly well with larger HD files and rendering is seamless. I've had it for over four months and no issues at all. Great interface. ALso comes with DVD architect which alone is great as well.br /br /

Sony "Vegas Pro 8" is simply one of the best high-end video editing software on the market. The package includes Vegas Pro 8 and DVD Architect Pro 4.5. br /br /We have produced over 20 instruction videos using Vegas (starting with Vegas 4) and could not be happier with the results. Every step from capturing the footage off our Mini-DV Canon GL2 Camcorder to authoring the master DVD is a smooth process. br /br /Here are some general observations:br /br /* The interface has a nice layout right out of the box, but is also easily customized to suite your personal editing habitsbr /* The included plugins are top notch and compare nicely with some of the high dollar add ons for Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effectsbr /* Easier to use and learn than Adobe Premiere Probr /* Unlimited Video and Audio Tracksbr /* Great interactive tutorials are actually usefulbr /* Great chromakey (greenscreen) functionalitybr /br /Home and casual video editors might also want to consider Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9, which has most of the same features (with a limited number of Video and Audio tracts), but is much less expensive.br /br /Highly recommended!

Having used Vegas Movie Studio and Sound Forge previously, I found the software relatively easy to use. It enabled me to edit my first HD movie and make a nice video the first time. I have not used this program extensively yet. Transitions and fades were easy to add. I could do much of the audio editing in this program without having to export the sound track to another application.br /
