 Lots of Great Stationery But Installation Was A Nightmare! August 31, 2005

I have yet to make a card with this software, but that is by choice...I prefer photo cards, and find it's easier to make the outside of a card with my Canon photo software, and the inside with Digital Image. I love the stationery section on this, however...lots of choices of paper designs, and it's very easy to use. I just can't figure out how to make the text larger, if you can. When you're typing up your letter, it has LARGE text; when you print your letter it has SMALL text. br /br /Making an envelope is easy, too...it's the only easy software I have for that! Only, I have to go to my Control Panel to click in my Canon printer properties to change the paper type to envelope. The Hallmark software doesn't allow this--at least not the envelopes that directly follow stationery printing, although it allows it when printing your letter. If I don't change the Canon to envelope, I'm left with ink tracks on my envelopes. (There is a separate envelope category, however, that I haven't used. Maybe that one brings up the printer properties.)br /br /There are loads of fun projects in this software, and it's a very colorful software.br /br /About installation...mine was a nightmare. Disc 1 was the only one that would download. The other two just froze my PC. I discovered that I was changing the discs too quick. If I waited at least a few minutes between changing discs it installed fine. I almost gave up on it, however, but am glad I didn't.

with plenty of opportunity to be creative. The only downfall is that there is no way to download more cards from the internet.br /br /All in all though, I would highly recommend this software.

I have to thank "Madeer" who pointed out that if you have or had PrintMaster, you have to reinstall it to get this program to work. I was tearing my hair out, updating everything I could find and still it wouldn't run until I re-installed Print Master. Now the program runs but I really don't see that it's 'deluxe' or much improvement over my Card Studio 2, just some new cards. I'd rather have a supplement to Card Studio 2.

Help! This program will not let me print all of my address's unto christmas labels. When you go down to the arrow to check all address's it will not move. Any Help would be appreciated.br /br /Thanks

I'm as close to a computer guru as you'd want havingbr /played with computers in general and PC's in particular since the heady early days of Sinclair,br /Kildall, and Adam Osborne. Installed Hallmark Card Studio on my beloved's machine severalbr /years back. Was immediately impressed with how thoughtfully programed for the beginner - mybr /lady took to it immediately - and yet how full featured it was for an advanced user (only wishbr /could import export data to other address books, and wouldn't it be great to have a Palmbr /conduit?!-)(I digress!-).br /Every new version just gets better to the point 2004 has close to two gigs of cards and imagery.br /In short, Sandra Hallmark Card Studio 2004 IS A KEEPER.br /br /Now, approve of your using 98SE, I recommend to my students (yes I teach computing) not to gobr /beyond 98SE and certainly not to connect anything from MS to the InterNet beyond 98SE (littlebr /thing code name of Palladium!-(br /There can be problems with corrupting printer drivers and notably spool32. Try removing yourbr /printer under START #62;SETTINGS #62;PRINTERS, restart your computer with the printer on andbr /reinstall. Hope this helps and you learn to enjoy this little gem of a program. HBH
