nascar racing #4 March 22, 2002 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
first i did not get a book of instructions with the game?? i had to learn on my own. my pit crew is not visible, don't know how to find them? the game goes in stop motion from time to time and the sound goes off all the time. i think it should be more simple to operate--to many buttons on the key board that changes things. in part the game is real fun and i plan on buying nascar 2002 soon. i just hope i get a book this time.
Can't get much better March 22, 2002 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I think I am the only fan of NASCAR in the UK and this game rocks. The graphics are superb, the gameplay is tough but rewarding and the Satisfaction is unbelievable. You get 21 of the 23 tracks available and almost all of the Drivers, including the late Dale Earnhardt. With the drivers, rookies like Ryan Newman etc are missing and I have no idea where Bill Elliot is. I recommend this game, although I should warn buyers that this game is fairly tough to begin with. Drivers are ruthless and the tracks, especially the shorter ones like Martinsville, are very, very difficult to negotiate at first. It is all worthwhile when you get the Checkered Flag though. Other features like the Paintshop and even the choices of fine tuning your personal vehicle are in there for the die hard fan. You gotta get this game.
Ultimate in home racing simulator March 10, 2002 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have downloaded played the demo. Both myself and a proffesional driver I know(he has never played a racing game on a PC!), love this game. The sounds, multiple views, and interactive features controls allow forfun, exciting and realistic entertainment value. And boy is it ever safe, you wont get hurt playing this. I don't know how compatible is with any racing wheels/ pedals/ shifters, or with which models for that matter, but keyboard controls are a snap!p...
NASCAR ,SO FAR the BEST ! March 9, 2002 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
After a nighmare trying to get a differant racing game to run on my PC, I was rather nervous about installing NASCAR4 on my system . A Pentium III 750 MHZ 256MB RAM 32 MB ATI RADEOM Graphic's PCI O/S Windows Me. I really enjoy Nascar 4 , it is loaded with options ,the instant replay is great. Watching your race from differant veiws , inside the car , spectator veiw, pit stop veiw etc. You can chose numerous racing tracks . Your pit stop talks to you and you can also have the text of what they are telling you displayed ! There is a garage for customizing your car ! I could go on and on , if you like racing games and have a wheel and pedals , buy it !
Awesome Game, but buy this year's edition 2002 March 7, 2002 N4 is awesome, I own it, but ever since the new version came out, N4 is not as much fun online, because not many people play N4 online anymore and Papyrus has moved their hosting servers up to the new edition. So I suggest that you buy the new version if you are into online playing, if you just want a standalone or LAN racing game, this is one of the best. The AI gets messed up if you put them at any setting less than 100%, but the racing is realistic and intense. You need a wheel to get the most out of this game.
